5 ways to manage anxiety

1. Try to make time for yourself each day doing something that is relaxing. This can look like 5 minutes of deep breathing in the morning or taking a bath. 2. Practice mindfulness. Mindfulness is about noticing and being present without judgment. There are numerous benefits of mindfulness including reduced stress. You can practice mindfulness when taking a shower or brushing your teeth. When most of us shower or brush our teeth we are thinking about some task we have to do, plans, worrying about something, or maybe thinking about something in the past. You can practice mindfulness by focusing on the present moment. Focus on what sensations you are experiencing, the smells, and the sounds. This gives your mind a chance to slow down and be in the present moment. 3. Try journaling. It can be a great outlet for your thoughts and feelings and a place to sort through what you are feeling. 4. Try an app like Calm or Headspace that will guide you through meditations. 5. Go for a mindful walk. Instead of being in your head when you walk,  spend the time noticing all that you hear, see, smell, and feel.
